I almost forgot to do this post! For some reason I thought April-July was three months, can’t tell you why I had that brain fart. The past few months have been very good to my collection, especially the book portion of it! Like I said in an earlier haul post, one day I’ll figure out how to nicely display everything but today is still not that day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As promised in my previous post, each Wednesday I will
try to post about an item from my Tolkien Collection. It’s just something I thought would be interesting for you guys as well as me. So this week I wanted to talk about this 7-Volume Boxed set of The Lord of the Rings.
A few weeks ago my mom told me she has saved up enough miles for me to visit New Zealand!!! This would be my graduation present since I’m planning on finishing college by December and graduating next spring. When she told me I could go to NZ I was in shock because my mom hardly ever acknowledges my love for Tolkien. I was touched and I think I started to tear up a little because she gave me a weird look haha.
I don’t want to rush into it because I want to have enough time to plan what I want to do and how much money I will need. Also because I don’t know what my life will be like after becoming a college graduate, will I have a job? An internship? Will I even be able to have time off? Or maybe I won’t have anything that will keep me busy…but I hope I will! As of right now I am aiming to go to NZ sometime in December of 2016. I was told it would be better to go during my winter, NZ’s summer, so the weather is nice and warm and Hobbiton is green and lush. I can’t even grasp the fact that I will actually get to walk along the paths of the Shire and walk up the steps to Bag End. I’m getting emotional just thinking about it, I have no idea how I will react when I am actually there. Continue reading
As stated in my last post, one of my goals for 2015 is to do a Tolkien haul post every three months and what better way to start than the beginning of the new year?! There are some items that I have added to my collection within that last few months but because I’m lazy and don’t feel like taking them out to take photos, they won’t be shown in this post.
I’ll start with figures first. I didn’t realize I added so many to my collection within the last three months, but it’s mostly because of New York Comic Con.
The list will be from left to right:
- Strider figure
- The Balrog – Flame of Udun Polystone Statue by Sideshow Collectibles
- Prologue Bilbo
- Sauron Funko Pop
- Pippin and Ugluk
- Frodo and Sam with Lothlorien boat
- Arwen, Frodo and Asfaloth
- Orc and warg battle scale figures
- Rohan battle scale figure
- Frodo doll
- Arwen doll
- Aragorn doll
- Frodo Funko plushie
- Invisible Bilbo, Gollum and Frodo
I logged onto LOTRO today even though I told myself I wouldn’t, but I only stayed on for about an hour so that’s an accomplishment! Check out this cool sunset. 🙂
Determined to get my war steed as soon as possible, I logged onto LOTRO for a little while today. And by “a little while” I mean about 4-5 hours. *cough cough* I once again put my unfinished epic quests on hold, a bad habit of mine, and moved on to a new area where I could level up. I should be questing in Mirkwood as well, but I cannot complete the intro quest even though I’m levels higher!! It’s embarrassing, but I’ll go back another time. After checking out this list I decided to go check out Enedwaith because I was level 66. Thought that it wouldn’t take me that long to go through the level 60-65 quests there, and I was right, it was fairly easy. Continue reading
